2009-2010 In Color Circle Combo

So I've been MIA for a bit. Haven't been able to upload any pictures. Our computer seems to have some kind of a strange bug so we are working on it.

I did get my new sneak peek order from Stampin Up and I have been having fun with my new goodies. Let me just say I ADORE the new in colors and I am so excited for everyone to get their hands on the new catty. I believe mine will be arriving tomorrow, so all my customers can start getting their wish lists together!

The new in color ribbon is scrumptious. I love the polka dots and you can flip it over and have a colored piece of grosgrain, versatility is always great when it comes to supplies!

My friend and I ordered all the in color ribbon except the Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo. We will be picking some up shortly. A dear friend sent me a yard of the Melon Mambo so I was able to whip up this card.

Stamping Supplies all SU!:
Stamps: Define Your Life, Circle Circus, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede
Accessories: Melon Mambo polka Dotted Ribbon, sponges, paper piercing tool

Happy Hello

Just a quick card I made using the PTI Everyday Classics 2009 Anniversary Set. I had a tough time with the Aquamist Ink. It just wasn't showing up...so I stored the ink pad upside down for a bit and that seemed to help!

Will be back later with the details!

I have ideas for my April and May cards. Just need to get working on getting all the supplies out! Sometimes it is hard to think about Christmas when it is so sunny and nice out, however I am sure I will enjoy my holiday more if I can just sit down and write out my cards rather than rushing to make them...KWIM?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and thanks for visiting me today!

Challenge #17 Butterflies

The challenge this week on Crafty Creations is to create a Butterfly card. Here is my submission.

This card was a lot of fun to make and I have to say thanks to Deena for posting a challenge that made me use butterflies!

I had a lot of fun with this card and I especially loved making my own background paper with Papertrey's Background Basics:Spots and Dots. I can not even explain how much I love this set. It is so versatile and very easy to use. I have been reaching for it constantly since it was released in April!

To give the card a vintage or a distressed type of feel I went over the images with Palette ink's New Canvas ink pad. I also wiped it around the edges of the card. I think it gives it a totally different feel and it kind of tones down some of the brightness of the yellows and pinks.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to participate in the weekly Crafty Creations Challenges!!

Stamping Recipe:
Stamps: PTI Background Basics: Spots and Dots, PTI Friends till the End, SU Branch Out, SU Garden Whimsy
Paper(all SU): Rose Red, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun, Yo Yo Yellow, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, PTI Lemon Tart, Palette New Canvas
Accessories: Dimensional, Silver star dust Sakura gelly roll pen

CAS Happy Birthday

I found this sketch on the Clean and Simple Card Blog. It was a great sketch to use up some extra designer paper scraps. I love the clean simple lines and the fact that it doesn't look to busy or crowded.

This card measures 4.25x4.25. I am really loving this size of a card. It is the perfect size to still fit in an A2 envelope!

The She's All That stamp set is retired but I still love it. I was able to purchase it from another demo and I am glad I did. At first I thought the skinny girls were a bit scary, but I've grown quite fond of them because they are so unique. I've seen some cool cards made where they were colored in so they were not just skinny girl silhouettes. Perhaps I will give that a try!

Although this card is clean and simple it still took me quite a while to put together. Not sure why but I am pleased with the end result!

Supplies:
Stamps: Retired She's All That
Ink: Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss
Paper: Kraft, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Raspberry Tart dp
Accessories: 1 3/8 circle punch, mega scallop punch, dimensionals

Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop

This is my first time participating in Papertrey Ink's monthly blog hop.
The challenge for this month is as follows:
"May Blog Hop

Spring and summer tend to be the most colorful ou
t of the four seasons. One color in particular that evokes the warmer weather is yellow!!! Your challenge this month is to use this trendsetting color to the best of it's potential! You can use it in small pieces as an accent or as the main color. Experiment & play, discovering new color combos that perhaps you hadn't thought of before. No matter what, just have fun and enjoy the feeling of happiness that this cheerful color evokes!"

Not sure about everyone else but I loved everything PTI offered during their May release. This month I am sure most of us are going to be celebrating several graduations. I needed to make a card for my cousin, and what do you know their school colors just happen to be yellow and black! *giggle* I used the Fancy Flourishes set to make my own two toned background. What a fun set. Nichole was right when she said "a well placed flourish can add the perfect touch to a project". I love how the flourishes help to depict some movement on the card.

The sentiment "way to go" is from the Star Prints set. It was stamped with fresh snow ink and then embossed with white detail embossing powder. I had to tap my fresh snow ink pad over the top because for some reason my embossing powder was a little chunky. I embossed this several times and just couldn't get it to look "PTI Perfect", so I decided I would distress it a little by going over the top with the Fresh Snow ink pad. I really like how it looks and I think it helped to make the card a little more masculine...just my opinion.

Supplies:
Stamps: Fancy Flourishes, Star Prints
Ink: True Black, Lemon Tart, Fresh Snow
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White, True Black, Lemon Tart
Accessories: White detailed embossing powder, SU Large Star Punch, Silver detailed embossing powder

Card #2 is a birthday card made using two of my favorite colors together, Lemon Tart and SU! Tempting Turquoise.

This card measures 4.25" x 4.25", just the perfect size to still fit in an A2 envelope. I am really enjoying making cards this size.

I created my own background paper by stamping the little star from Everyday Classics. It is actually kind of relaxing making your designer paper. I've only started trying, I know *gasp*, anyways the inside of the card is stamped with the "wishing you a happy birthday" sentiment from Everyday Classics and then has the flourish around it. Isn't that flourish from Everyday Classics so amazing! I just love this set, and I hope it makes its way into all the mailboxes who earned it very soon!

Supplies:
Stamps: Everyday Classics, Little Lady, 2008 Holiday Tag Collection
Ink: SU! Tempting Turquoise, True Black, Lemon Tart
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White, Lemon Tart
Accessories: Dimensionals, Lemon Tart polka dot ribbon, tempting turquoise SU! grosgrain ribbon

Okay, so I know my projects aren't amazing or "PTI Perfect", but I finally mustard up the courage to participate, so I hope everyone enjoys my inspirations using Yellow. I am sure I will be busy oohing and awwwing over all the projects of the participants!

Happy Memorial Day and I just want to shout out a thanks to all our current military men and women and say THANKS for all you do!!!! I appreciate it!
